            As a student of the English language education program, students must study English more deeply than students of other majors. Therefore, universities provide specific courses for students to choose according to their interests in order to develop their skills. One of the specific courses you can choose is translation. In the translation class, students can take advantage of many advantages, such as: they can learn how to use effective strategies, methods, techniques and procedures to translate texts. This research was conducted at the English Language, Faculty of Teaching Training and Education, University of Lambung Mangkurat.

            This research used descriptive qualitative techniques. The data obtained from translation tasks and interview analysis qualitatively. The participants were students of English Language Education Study Program batch 2019. The data of this study was gathered by a translation task. The findings of this study shows that ELESP students from the faculty of teaching training and Education at the University of Lambung Mangkurat have to choose literal translation and communicative translation due translation task. This is shown by the fact that the dominant answer was “Literal Translation and Communicative Translation,” which resulted relate to previous study from Herti Hidha Astria (2017), in her research entitled “An analysis of translation method used by student at the sixth semester of English education department UIN Alauddin Makassar”. which means the narrative text will be connected with the fields needed in junior high school and high school students.
