ABSTRACT

This study aims to analyze the perceptions of students of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK) Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) towards job opportunities in the fisheries sector and to evaluate their readiness to face the world of work. The research method used a questionnaire with a Likert scale filled out by 92 respondents from six study programs. The results showed that 88% of students had a positive perception of job opportunities in the fisheries sector, with 37% stating "Very Opportunity" to become entrepreneurs and 57% "Opportunity" as formal employees. However, only 23% were confident in long-term career stability. Students' job readiness was relatively high (80%), especially in technical aspects, but there were still gaps in non-technical competencies such as risk management. This study recommends increasing entrepreneurship training and collaboration between educational institutions, government, and industry to strengthen students' job readiness.
