UJI TOKSISITAS AKUT SISIK IKAN SEPAT SIAM (Trichopodus pectoralis, REGAN 1910) PADA TIKUS PUTIH (Rattus norvegicus)

Sisik ikan sepat siam mengandung protein dan mineral yang cukup tinggi dan memiliki potensi besar untuk dimanfaatkan dalam bentuk olahan makanan atau suplemen, sehingga perlu dilakukan uji toksisitas untuk menjamin keamanan dan penggunaannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh pemberian sisik ikan sepat siam pada tikus. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental dengan menggunakan metode uji toksisitas akut oral fixed doses. Kelompok perlakuan pada penelitian ini terdiri dari 4 perlakuan, yaitu kontrol negatif, dosis 300 mg/kg BB, dosis 2000 mg/kg BB dan dosis 5000 mg/kg BB. Hewan uji yang digunakan berupa tikus betina, dengan rentang berat badan 120 g – 220 g dan tiap kelompok terdiri dari 5 ekor hewan uji. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sisik sepat siam masuk kategori 5/unclassified yang berarti sisik ikan sepat siam tidak toksik berdasarkan kriteria penggolongan hewan uji menurut OECD.

ACUTE TOXICITY TEST OF TRICHOPODUS PECTORALIS SCALES (Trichopodus pectoralis, REGAN 1910) ON RATS (Rattus norvegicus)

The scales of Trichopodus pectoralis contain high levels of protein and minerals, making them highly potential for use in food products or supplements. Therefore, toxicity testing is necessary to ensure their safety for use. This study aims to analyze the effect of Trichopodus pectoralis scales on rats. It is an experimental study using the acute oral fixed dose toxicity testing method. The treatment groups in this study consisted of four treatments: a negative control, a dose of 300 mg/kg body weight, a dose of 2000 mg/kg body weight, and a dose of 5000 mg/kg body weight. The test animals used were female rats, with body weights ranging from 120 g to 220 g, and each group consisted of five rats. The results of the study showed that Trichopodus pectoralis scales fall into category 5/unclassified, meaning that Trichopodus pectoralis scales are non-toxic based on the test animal classification criteria according to the OECD.
