Research on the development of interactive animated video learning media based on problem-based learning with a socio-scientific issues approach to improve students' critical thinking skills on reaction rate material . This study aims to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the developed animated video. This study is a Research & Development study with the ADDIE model, namely: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation , and Evaluation . The subjects of this study were 5 validators and 38 students of class XIMIPA S MANegeri 3 Banjarmasin. Data collection used test and non-test instruments (questionnaires and observation sheets). The data analysis technique used is a descriptive analysis technique, namely by describing the validity, practicality and effectiveness of the developed animated video. The results of this study show that the developed animated video: is stated to be very valid based on the validator's assessment, practicality is stated to be very practical based on the assessment of observers, students, and teachers, and Effective based on the N-Gain value of critical thinking skills based on the results of the pre-test and post-test of students. The results of the analysis show that the developed animated video is valid, very practical, and effective for use as media and teaching materials in chemistry learning on the reaction rate material to improve students' critical thinking skills.
