This study aims to analyze the potential of bee forage plants and their role in supporting apiculture development in Harus Village, Muara Harus District, Tabalong Regency. The research focused on identifying dominant forage plant species, vegetation structure, and diversity as determinants of sustainable honey production by stingless bees (Heterotrigona itama). The study employed a field survey method using vegetation analysis with sample plots at three growth stages: pole (10 × 10 m), sapling (5 × 5 m), and seedling (2 × 2 m). Data were collected through direct observation, plant identification, and measurement of vegetation parameters. Data analysis included the calculation of the Important Value Index (IVI) to determine species dominance and the Shannon–Wiener Diversity Index (H’). The results identified 14 plant species that potentially serve as forage sources for stingless bees, consisting of tree, shrub, and herbaceous species. Rubber (Hevea brasiliensis) showed the highest IVI at the pole level (209.71%) and sapling level (128.57%), indicating strong dominance in the vegetation structure. At the seedling level, coconut (Cocos nucifera) was the most dominant species with an IVI value of 112.5%. The diversity index values were classified as low, with H’ values of 0.92 at the pole level, 0.90 at the sapling level, and 0.66 at the seedling level. Despite low diversity, the presence of several plant species flowering throughout the year supports continuous forage availability. These findings indicate that Harus Village has considerable potential for sustainable apiculture development with efforts to increase forage plant diversity.
