Abstrak
Muara Sungai Satui merupakan kawasan transisi antara ekosistem sungai dan laut yang rentan terhadap akumulasi logam berat karena adanya kegiatan antropogenik, yaitu pelabuhan batubara, area stockpile, transportasi kapal, dan kegiatan bongkar muat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kandungan logam berat Timbal (Pb) dan Kadmium (Cd) pada sedimen di Muara Sungai Satui, Kecamatan Satui, Kabupaten Tanah Bumbu. Sampel sedimen diambil pada tiga stasiun menggunakan metode purposive sampling dan dianalisis menggunakan Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi Pb berkisar antara 6,98–10,14 mg/kg, sedangkan konsentrasi Cd pada seluruh stasiun berada di bawah batas deteksi alat (<0,1 mg/kg). Perbedaan konsentrasi Pb diduga dipengaruhi oleh sumber pencemar, kondisi hidrodinamika perairan, dan karakteristik sedimen. Rendahnya konsentrasi Cd diduga terkait dengan minimnya sumber pencemar serta pengaruh faktor lingkungan. Berdasarkan baku mutu sedimen IADC/CEDA (1997), konsentrasi Pb dan Cd masih berada di bawah nilai target, sehingga sedimen di Muara Sungai Satui tergolong memenuhi baku mutu dan belum menunjukkan indikasi pencemaran logam berat yang signifikan.

Abstract
The Satui River Estuary is a transitional area between river and marine ecosystems that has the potential to experience heavy metal accumulation due to anthropogenic activities, such as coal ports, stockpile areas, ship transportation, and loading and unloading activities. This study aims to analyze the content of heavy metals Lead (Pb) and Cadmium (Cd) in sediments in the Satui River Estuary, Satui District, Tanah Bumbu Regency. Sediment samples were taken at three stations using a purposive sampling method and analyzed using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS). The results showed that Pb concentrations ranged from 6.98–10.14 mg/kg, while Cd concentrations at all stations were below the detection limit of the instrument (<0.1 mg/kg). Differences in Pb concentrations are thought to be influenced by pollutant sources, hydrodynamic conditions of the waters, and sediment characteristics. The low Cd concentration is thought to be related to the minimal pollutant sources and the influence of environmental factors. Based on the IADC/CEDA (1997) sediment quality standards, the concentrations of Pb and Cd are still below the target values, so that the sediment in the Satui River Estuary is classified as meeting the quality standards and has not shown any indication of significant heavy metal contamination.
