ABSTRAK

 

 

Pendidikan tidak hanya menekankan pada pencapaian akademik, tetapi juga pada pembentukan karakter dan kepedulian terhadap lingkungan. Namun, metode pembelajaran di Indonesia masih belum sesuai dengan kondisi dan kebutuhan anak. Menghadapi tantangan abad ke-21, seperti kemajuan teknologi, urbanisasi, dan isu lingkungan global, muncul kebutuhan akan model pendidikan alternatif, salah satunya sekolah alam.

Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan arsitektur kontekstual yang mempertimbangkan kondisi fisik, sosial, budaya, dan lingkungan setempat melalui analisis tapak, kebutuhan ruang, studi preseden, karakteristik pengguna, serta penerapan prinsip keberlanjutan. Hasil perancangan berupa Sekolah Alam di Banjarbaru yang mengintegrasikan ruang belajar dengan lingkungan alam melalui kebun edukasi, hutan edukasi, danau buatan, ruang kelas terbuka, workshop, dan berbagai fasilitas luar ruang sebagai media pembelajaran berbasis pengalaman (experiential learning). Penataan massa bangunan mempertimbangkan orientasi matahari dan arah angin untuk mengoptimalkan pencahayaan dan penghawaan alami. Prinsip keberlanjutan diterapkan melalui penggunaan material ramah lingkungan, energi surya, sistem pemanenan air hujan, serta pengelolaan limbah organik yang terintegrasi dengan aktivitas pembelajaran. Dengan demikian, rancangan Sekolah Alam di Banjarbaru tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai fasilitas pendidikan, tetapi juga sebagai lingkungan belajar yang mendukung implementasi kurikulum berbasis alam serta menumbuhkan kesadaran dan tanggung jawab terhadap keberlanjutan lingkungan.

ABSTRACT

Education is not only focused on academic achievement but also on character development and environmental awareness. However, learning methods in Indonesia are still not fully aligned with children's needs and developmental characteristics. In response to 21st-century challenges, such as technological advancement, urbanization, and global environmental issues, there is a growing need for alternative educational models, one of which is the nature school.

The design employs a contextual architecture approach that considers the physical, social, cultural, and environmental conditions of the site through site analysis, spatial requirements, precedent studies, user characteristics, and the application of sustainability principles. The design result is a Nature School in Banjarbaru that integrates learning spaces with the natural environment through educational gardens, educational forests, artificial lakes, open-air classrooms, workshops, and various outdoor facilities as media for experiential learning. The building mass arrangement considers solar orientation and prevailing wind directions to optimize natural lighting and ventilation. Sustainability principles are implemented through the use of environmentally friendly materials, solar energy utilization, rainwater harvesting systems, and organic waste management integrated into learning activities. Therefore, the proposed Nature School in Banjarbaru not only functions as an educational facility but also as a learning environment that supports the implementation of a nature-based curriculum while fostering environmental awareness and responsibility toward sustainability.
