Drama Korea sebagai salah satu bentuk media popular yang tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai hiburan, tetapi juga dapat mempengaruhi cara pandang penonton terhadap realitas sosial, termasuk dalam memahami konsep keadilan. Fenomenan yang terjadi menunjukkan bahwa tayangan yang mengangkat tema vigilantiseme, seperti dalam drama Vigilante, dapat membentuk persepsi penonton terhadap tindakan main hakim sendiri sebagai bentuk keadilan alternatif ketika sistem hukum dianggap tidak berjalan dengan baik.

Tujuan dari studi ini adalah untuk mengkaji dampak frekuensi menonton drama Korea Vigilante terhadap pandangan tentang keadilan dalam komunitas About K-Drama di aplikasi WhatsApp. Penelitian ini menerapkan metode kuantitatif dan melibatkan 145 orang sebagai sampel. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket, sedangkan analisis data dilaksanakan dengan regresi linear sederhana.

Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa persepsi keadilan dipengaruhi oleh frekuensi menonton. Nilai p sebesar 0,000 < 0,05. Menurut persamaan regresi linier, Y = 22,267 + 0,283 (X) + e. Besarnya pengaruh adalah 31,4%, yang dianggap rendah menurut uji koefisien determinasi. Sementara itu, faktor-faktor lain yang tidak diteliti dalam penelitian ini memberikan pengaruh 68,6%.

The Effect of Viewing Intensity of the Korean Drama Vigilante on Perpections of Justice in the About K-Drama Community on the WhatsApp Application.

Korean dramas, as a form popular media, function not only as entertainment but also as influential agents in shaping viewers’ perceptions of social reality, including their understanding of the concept of justice. Contemporary phenomena indicate that media contentfeaturing vigilante themes, such as the drama Vigilante, can shape viewers’ perceptions by normalizing or justifying acts of vigilantism as an alternative form of justice, particularly when the formal legal system is perceived as ineffective.

This study aims to examine the effect of viewing intensity of the Korean drama Vigilante on perceptions of justice within the About K-Drama community on the WhatsApp application. This research adopts a quantitative approach, involving 145 respondents. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire, and the analysis was conducted using simple linear regression.

The findings indicate that viewing intensity exerts a statistically significant effect on perceptions of justice, as indicated by a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. The resulting regression model is expressed as Y = 22.267 + 0.283X + e, suggesting that higher viewing intensity is associated with an increase in perceptions of justice. Furthermore, the coefficient of determination (R²) indicates that viewing intensity accounts for 31.4% of the variance in perceptions of justice, which is categorized as a low effect size. The remaining 68.6% is explained by other variables not included in this study.
