ABSTRACT

Waste management behavior is a crucial effort in creating a clean and healthy environment as well as reducing the risk of transmitting various environment-based diseases. This study aims to analyze the relationship between knowledge, infrastructure, and trash bin sanitation with waste management behavior in Sungai Sipai Village, Martapura. The study implemented a cross-sectional study design and was conducted in March 2026 with a sample of 98 respondents. Data were collected through questionnaires and observation sheets. Bivariate analysis was performed using the chi-square test. The findings of the bivariate analysis indicated that the level of knowledge (p-value = 0.014), infrastructure (p-value = 0.001), and trash bin sanitation (p-value = 0.046) were significantly associated with the community's waste management behavior in Sungai Sipai Village, Martapura. Increased education and improvements in the sanitary quality of waste disposal facilities are required to optimize waste management behavior in the community.
