Bilaran tapah (Merremia peltata (L.) Merr.) is one of the typical plants of South

Kalimantan that has good antioxidant activity. Merremia peltata has the potential

to be developed, one of them is a preparation such as effervescent granules. This

study aims to determine the effect of variations in acid and base concentration

based on stoichiometry on the physical characteristics of effervescent granules.

Merremia peltata leaf extract was obtained by maceration method using 70%

ethanol then phytochemical screening was carried out. Variation in the

concentration of citric acid:tartaric acid used were, formula 1 (1:1), formula 2

(7:3) and formula 3 (3:7), while variations in base concentration based on

stoichiometric calculations. Each formula was made using a wet granulation

method and an evaluation test was carried out in the form of organoleptic test, pH,

water content, particle size distribution, flow properties, effervescent time and

hedonic test. The evaluation results showed that stoichiometry variations in the

concentration gave effect to water content, flow rate and effervescent time.
