ABSTRACT.Purun handicrafts are one form of utilisation of non-timber forest products that hold economic potential for communities in peatland areas. Processing purun into various handicraft products can increase the economic value of the raw material; however, the production costs and value added generated by each product need to be understood as a basis for business development. This study aims to analyse the cost structure of the purun craft product processing business and to analyse the value added from the processing of purun craft products using the Hayami Method in Pulantani Village, Haur Gading Sub-district, Hulu Sungai Utara Regency. The study employed a quantitative descriptive method with purposive sampling of craftspeople who met the research criteria. Data were collected through observation, questionnaire-based interviews and documentation. The products analysed—including purun mats, purun wallets, purun baskets and purun bags—are the main handicraft products of the local community. The results of the study show that the average total cost per production process for purun mats was Rp628,900, for purun wallets Rp48,150, for purun baskets Rp88,383, and for purun bags Rp108,294.5. An analysis of value added indicates that all purun handicraft products generate positive value added. The average value added for purun mats is Rp1,401.2/kg with a value-added ratio of 46.16 per cent; for purun baskets, it is Rp5,828.262/kg with a ratio of 68.12 per cent; for purun wallets, it is Rp14,037.233/kg with a ratio of 87.66 per cent; and purun bags at Rp15,140.66/kg with a ratio of 66.54 per cent. The research findings indicate that processing purun into various handicraft products is capable of enhancing the economic value of purun as a raw material and has the potential to increase the income of the community in Pulantani Village, Hulu Sungai Utara Regency.

ABSTRAK.Kerajinan purun merupakan salah satu bentuk pemanfaatan hasil hutan bukan kayu yang memiliki potensi ekonomi bagi masyarakat di wilayah lahan rawa. Pengolahan purun menjadi berbagai produk kerajinan dapat meningkatkan nilai ekonomi bahan baku, namun besarnya biaya produksi dan nilai tambah yang dihasilkan pada setiap produk perlu diketahui sebagai dasar pengembangan usaha. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis struktur biaya usaha pengolahan produk kerajinan purun serta menganalisis nilai tambah hasil pengolahan produk kerajinan purun menggunakan Metode Hayami di Desa Pulantani, Kecamatan Haur Gading, Kabupaten Hulu Sungai Utara. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan teknik purposive sampling terhadap pengrajin yang memenuhi kriteria penelitian. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara berbasis kuesioner, dan dokumentasi. Produk yang dianalisis meliputi tikar purun, dompet purun, bakul purun, dan tas purun merupakan produk kerajinan utama masyarakat setempat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata biaya total per proses produksi pada tikar purun sebesar Rp628.900, dompet purun sebesar Rp48.150, bakul purun sebesar Rp88.383, dan tas purun sebesar Rp108.294,5. Analisis nilai tambah menunjukkan bahwa seluruh produk kerajinan purun menghasilkan nilai tambah positif. Rata-rata nilai tambah tikar purun sebesar Rp1.401,2/kg dengan rasio nilai tambah 46,16%, bakul purun sebesar Rp5.828,262/kg dengan rasio 68,12%, dompet purun sebesar Rp14.037,233/kg dengan rasio 87,66%, dan tas purun sebesar Rp15.140,66/kg dengan rasio 66,54%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengolahan purun menjadi berbagai produk kerajinan mampu meningkatkan nilai ekonomi bahan baku purun serta berpotensi meningkatkan pendapatan masyarakat di Desa Pulantani, Kabupaten Hulu Sungai Utara.
