Callicarpa longifolia  Lam. Generally known as 'kareho' from the Lamiaceae family 

which is known contain  of tannins, saponins, and flavonoids  compound  which have 

activities such as antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and analgesic. This study aims to 

determine the value of non-specific parameters and  specific  parameters of simplicia 

and extract ethanol  C.  Longifolia  leaves. Results of  standardization  non-specific 

parameters simplicia of C. longifolia leaves showed the loss on drying of 8,16% ± 

0,25%  -  8,93% ± 0,37%, total ash content  5,08% ± 0,05%  -  5,73% ± 0,31%, and 

ash content insoluble in acid 0,06% ± 0,03% - 0,15% ± 0,03%, specific parameters 

of C. longifolia leaves The organoleptic test consisted of powder, green, bitter taste 

and  distinctive  odor,  microscopic  test  with  actinositic  stomata  type,  compound 

content  dissolved  in  water  14,70%  ±  0,26%  -  16,53%  ±  0,37%,  and  compound 

content dissolved in ethanol by 16,30% ± 0,10% - 17,50% ± 0,10% and the results 

non specific    parameters of  C. longifolia  leaf extract showed  water content of 8,66% 

±0,41% -  9,46% ± 0,30%, total ash content  3,61% ± 0,10% -  4,07% ± 0,13%, and 

the ash content insoluble in acid 0,067% ± 0,03% - 0,12% ± 0,03%, and the results 

specific  parameters  of  the  extract  ethanol  C.  longifolia  leaf  obtained  extracts  of 

25.64%  -26.56%,  organoleptic  tests  in  the  form  of  thick  extracts,  with  greenish 

black color, were changed specifically and contained a bitter taste. Based on the 

research it can be concluded that the simplicia and  C. longifolia  leaf extract are 

based on the testing of  specific and non-specific parameter standards that qualify

the quality standardization of raw materials.
