Regarding the implementation of the 2013 curriculum, teachers are demanded to make changes in their practice of teaching and learning as well as in terms of lesson planning. Lesson plan is an important component of curriculum. It should be prepared systematically by the teachers.

This research is aimed to describewhether the Englishlesson plan used by the teacher of SMP Negeri 24 Banjarmasin meet the requirement of 2013 Curriculum or not and what are their problems in developing lesson plan. For this purpose, the researcher used documentation and interview as technique of data collection.

The result of this study shows that lesson plan used by the teacher of SMP Negeri 24 Banjarmasin was sufficiently appropiate with 2013 curriculum requirements, where the lesson plan should be prepared by referring to the standard process and scientific approach. However, they were some defenciencies regarding the formulation of the objective in terms of ABCD elements, teaching activities and completeness of the assessment tools. Then, there were some difficulties which were encountered by the teacher in developing the lesson plan : The first, the teacher got some difficulties in formulating the objectives. The second,the teacher got confused in determining assessment because there were so many aspects which had to be assessed based on 2013 curriculum.
