SUMMARY

"CHARACTERISTIC TEST OF MIXED DROPLET OIL (CORN + DIESEL OIL)".

This test aims to find alternative fuels to replace fossil fuels and to find out the combustion characteristics of a mixture of corn oil with diesel oil, the method of testing uses tools designed by researchers and the process of making specimens with a percentage of corn oil mixture with diesel oil worth 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% and 50%. The observed characteristics are the time of ignition, visualization (height of fire and color of fire), flame temperature, and rate of combustion. The test results show the highest ignition delay time is shown by a mixture percentage of 50%, which is 6.28 s while the lowest ignition delay time is indicated by a mixture percentage of 10%, namely for 4.01 s. From the visualization test all the percentages of the mixture of corn oil with diesel oil were obtained by the color of the flame which is yellow and the highest flame was shown by the percentage of the mixture 10% that was as high as 66mm while the lowest value was indicated by the percentage of the mixture of 50% which was as high as 40mm. Testing the highest flame temperature is shown by the percentage of 50% mixture with a temperature of 63.7 ° C and the lowest flame temperature is indicated by a percentage of the mixture of 10% with a temperature of 42.13 ° C. The highest combustion rate test results are shown by a 50% mixed percentage that is 0.849 s and the lowest combustion rate test results are shown by a 10% mixed percentage that is 0.258 s
