This study found three types of speech acts used by the teacher in teaching English, namely locution acts, illocution acts, and per locution acts. The benefit of locution acts can communicate regular utterance to students, but in every utterance has variety purposes in every situations and contexts. There are three kinds locutions used in classroom, they are declarative, interrogative and imperative. The English teacher mostly used interrogative utterance to teach students in the classroom. Interrogative utterances were used by the teacher in the classroom for example for asking questions to students which make the students to be more active in the teaching and learning activity. Therefore, the teacher in the illocution act can communicate the teacher’s purpose in the teaching and learning activity, for example in directing or asking or giving appreciation to the students. In the per locution act, the teacher can give utterance for affecting the students intentionally or unintentionally.
