The importance of instilling an attitude of optimism and cultural values of Gawi Manuntung in students, so that they are able to participate in learning in a disciplined and conducive atmosphere. This study aims to determine the contribution of optimism and cultural values of Gawi Manuntung to the learning discipline of class XI students at SMA Negeri 1 Kuala Kapuas.

This study uses a quantitative approach to the type of contribution research. The data collection tool used a questionnaire with a Likert scale with a saturated sampling technique, with a total sample of 130 Class XI students at SMA Negeri 1 Kuala Kapuas. Data analysis techniques using descriptive statistics, simple linear regression, and multiple linear regression.

The results of the study stated that the contribution between optimism and learning discipline was 4,8%, the contribution between cultural values of Gawi Manuntung to learning discipline was 10,5%, and the contribution of optimism and cultural values of Gawi Manuntung to learning discipline of class XI students was 12,7%. Suggestions for further researchers, conduct research using other independent variables that allow them to contribute to learning discipline and can also take subjects not only in one class but can be in all classes in the school.
