THE DIFFERENCE OF ECG PATIENTS WITH HYPERTENSION FOR
SUFFERING MEDICAL RECORDS <5 YEARS AND ≥5 YEARS IN
INTERNAL POLYCLINIC OF H. DAMANHURI BARABAI HOSPITAL

Background: One of early detection the risk of cardiovascular complications in
patients with hypertension, was by knowing the Electrocardiogram (ECG) profile
of hypertensive patients. The ECG in hypertensive patients who have long
suffering will be at high risk for heart abnormalities.
Objective: To know the difference of ECG overview in hypertensive patients with
long history of sufferers <5 years and ≥5 years in polyclinic internal medicine H.
Damanhuri Barabai hospital.
Methods: Comparative descriptive study with cross sectional approach design.
The sampling technique was accidental sampling with 60 people divided into two
groups of 30 people each group. The instrument used was an ECG picture
observation sheet made by the researcher. The analysis in this study used the
fisher's exact test.
Result: The results of this study showed a picture of ECG in hypertensive
patients with a history of <5 years normal as many as 22 people (73.3%). ECG
features with a history of sufferers 5 years of abnormal history of 21 people
(70%). The results of the analysis in this study indicate that there was a
difference of ECG overview in hypertensive patients with long history of sufferers
<5 years and ≥5 years in polyclinic internal medicine H. Damanhuri Barabai
hospital.
Discussion: The longer a person suffers from hypertension, the ECG can
potentially lead to a overview of left ventricular hypertrophy, which plays an
important role in the prevalence of heart failure.
