The growth of technology has given rise to several technological tools and applications that can facilitate the teaching process in the field of education. Thus, teachers must be able to choose which technology can facilitate learning with adequate representation features. Nevertheless, teachers must ascertain whether students will receive the technology in delivering lessons and if they enjoy such learning. Thus, this research examines students' perceptions of using visual aids in learning English. In this study, the researcher applied descriptive qualitative research. The research subject included 30 students of XI MIPA 1 at SMAN 2 Banjarmasin. The researcher used a questionnaire as the primary instrument, while an interview and documentation were supporting instruments. Then, the researcher used an interactive analysis model to analyze the data. Technique and data source triangulation were used to validate data. The results of this study indicated that most students had positively perceived the use of visual aids in learning. It was found that visual aids can help students understand learning material easily and help them grow interested in learning. The experience of using those technologies in supporting their learning activity provides benefits and encourages them to use them continuously. Additionally, a few students have negatively perceived visual aids. They felt that using visual aids was inefficient. Therefore, the results suggest that the teacher should use technological advances in learning aids that attract students' interest. Students must also utilize technology wisely to maximize the benefits.
