Discourse markers are words that help connect ideas based on the context of the conversation. This can improve a speaker's ability to communication clearly. Discourse Markers can be found in every conversation daily life by students but the lack of study they can’t mention about it. This research analyzes the discourse markers found in every scenes The Ron Clark Story movie. A qualitive descriptive method was used to analyze the collected data. The findings of this study show types of discourse markers based on daily conversation life from Schffrin’s theory: “and”, “but”, “because”, “so”, “now”, “then”, “oh”, “well”, ”you know”, and “I mean”. It concluded that discourse marker “and” are the most dominant used in the movie. Beside, there are reasons why discourse markers “and” are usually used such as it can help add additional information about explanation, clarification for the speaker and produced to give more information when the speakers clarify the ideas.
