In the 21st century, character education is indeed a high priority. Thus, the objective of the research was to analyze the 18-character education values represented in the English textbook entitled Bahasa Inggris “Work in Progress” for Grade X by the Ministry of National Education and Culture. This English textbook, published by the Ministry of Education and Culture, is meticulously prepared to meet high standards. It is evaluated based on content feasibility, learning support, language, and presentation. With careful steps before publication, it's both affordable and top-quality for schools. This research used a descriptive qualitative approach, and the English textbook entitled Bahasa Inggris, “Work in Progress” for Grade X, was used as the object. Meanwhile, the research instruments were a datasheet and the researcher itself. The research findings showed that the 18 types of character education values were found in the English textbook. The value of friendly/communicative wasthe most apparent in the English textbook, which represented 47 times because this English textbook often provides group work for students' activity in each chapter. Since characters referred to moral values that all human beings need to possess and implement in their religious, personal, and socio-cultural behavior, this research provided some literature and traditions that were similar to the character education values found in the textbook, such as proverbs. Thus, suggestions for future researchers are expected to conduct the research in the Pancasila values area from the Merdeka Curriculum and add more traditional proverbs and Indonesian cultures.
