Karyawan generasi milenial disebut “always connected” yang memiliki kecenderungan menggunakan internet terkait menambah informasi yang baru. Dalam beberapa temuan, hal tersebut dapat memunculkan timbulnya perilaku cyberloafing dan beberapa faktor lainnya yang signifikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui efek mediasi keadilan interaksional pada peranan kepemimpinan pasif terhadap perilaku cyberloafing karyawan milenial di Indonesia. Berdasarkan Teori Pertukaran sosial (Social Exchange Theory) oleh Thibaut dan Kelley(1959) bahwa terdapat hubungan saling memberi dan menerima antara organisasi dengan karyawan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan mengumpulkan data karyawan milenial di Indonesia secara daring. Data penelitian terkumpul 514 responden yang kemudian di analisis statistic menggunakan simple mediation model oleh Hayes yang dibantu aplikasi SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan variabel keadilan interaksional signifikan memediasi peranan kepemimpinan pasif terhadap cyberloafing. Selanjutnya, kepemimpinan pasif berperan signifikan terhadap cyberloafing secara langsung. Kesimpulannya adalah kepemimpinan pasif mampu memprediksi cyberloafing pada karyawan milenial di Indonesia, baik dengan perantara keadilan interaksional maupun secara langsung.

MEDIATION EFFECT OF INTERACTIONAL JUSTICE ON THE ROLE OF PASSIVE LEADERSHIP IN CYBERLOAFING BEHAVIOR AMONG MILLENNIAL EMPLOYEES IN INDONESIA

Millennial employees are called the “always connected” generation who have a tendency to use the internet to search and add new information. In some findings, this tendency can lead to cyberloafing behavior and several other significant factors. This study aims to investigate the mediation effect of interactional justice on the role of passive leadership in cyberloafing behavior among millennial employees in Indonesia. Based on the Social Exchange Theory by Thibaut and Kelley (1959) it is stated that there is a relationship of giving and receiving between organizations and employees. A quantitative method was used in the study by collecting data online from 514 millennial employees in Indonesia as the respondents. The research data were analyzed statistically using the simple mediation model by Hayes with the SPSS application. The results of the study showed that the interactional justice variable significantly mediated the role of passive leadership in cyberloafing. Furthermore, passive leadership played a significant role in cyberloafing directly. It can therefore be concluded that passive leadership is able to predict cyberloafing in millennial employees in Indonesia, either mediated by interactional justice or directly.
