            The need for English in every field is growing over time. ESP courses are key to meeting this rising demand for English. Preparing an ESP course involves a crucial step called Need Analysis. This study discussed Need Analysis in ESP for Chemistry Education of FKIP Universitas Lambung Mangkurat. It looked into the problems chemistry education students face with using English and what they need to overcome these problems.

             This study used a descriptive qualitative method. The researcher collected data regarding students’ situations, learning needs, and their lacks through a questionnaire using Google Forms from 74 the Chemistry Education students of FKIP ULM from the batches of 2021 and 2022. Out of these 74 students, 5 were chosen for interviews to gain more information regarding the problem discussed. The data collected was then described qualitatively and compared with previous research. The researcher also provided documentation and voice recording to support the validity of the research.

            The findings of this research revealed that the integration of specialized English in chemistry education had not been adequately balanced with English instruction tailored specifically for Chemistry Education. English was frequently used in spoken, written, and visual formats within Chemistry Education. Consequently, many students studying Chemistry Education encountered difficulties in comprehending English materials. Therefore, a special program needs to be implemented to address the problems faced by the Chemistry Education students at Universitas Lambung Mangkurat.
