Purpose: his study aims to analyze physical literacy in terms of motivation and self-confidence among fifth-grade students at SDN Jawa 5. The study is based on the assumption that motivation and self-confidence are important psychological factors influencing the development of students’ physical literacy in Physical Education learning. Methods: This research employed a quantitative approach with a survey design. The population consisted of 47 fifth-grade students at SDN Jawa 5, Banjarbaru, Indonesia. The variables in this study were physical literacy, motivation, and self-confidence. Data were collected using validated Likert-scale questionnaires. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistical analysis in the form of percentages to determine the level of each variable. Results: The findings revealed that students’ motivation is categorized as very good with a percentage of 81.98%, while self-confidence is categorized as good with a percentage of 73.87%. Overall, students’ physical literacy is categorized as very good. Students with higher motivation demonstrate greater enthusiasm, persistence, and active participation in Physical Education learning activities. Meanwhile, students with higher self-confidence show better courage, willingness to perform physical tasks, and active engagement in movement-based activities. Implications: The results indicate that motivation and self-confidence play a significant role in supporting the development of students’ physical literacy. Teachers are recommended to design more interactive, enjoyable, and student-centered Physical Education learning strategies to improve both motivation and self-confidence. These findings may also serve as a reference for improving instructional practices and as a foundation for future research in Physical Education and physical literacy development. Additional materials: This study involved 47 respondents, three variables (physical literacy, motivation, and self-confidence), two statistical tables, two graphical presentations, and questionnaire instruments as data collection tools.
